Is Kennesaw State catching too many points as a 10-point underdog at Middle Tennessee? Will the Golden Knights stay hot with their fourth win of the season? Will the Yankees make it two in a row versus the Guardians in the ALCS?
Tuesday’s Sports Betting Best Bets: Vegas Golden Knights (-135), 7:00 p.m. ET
The Golden Knights are off to a fantastic start in 2024. They opened the season with an 8-4 victory over the Avalanche and followed up that performance with a 4-3 win over the Blues. In their most recent game, they beat the Ducks 3-1 on Sunday.
Washington, meanwhile, has only played one game. The Capitals suffered a 5-3 loss to the Devils as a home underdog on October 12. They have also struggled in this series, dropping seven out of their last 10 meetings with Vegas. Granted, all three of their wins over Vegas did come in Washington, but I’m willing to roll the dice with the Golden Knights tonight. They’re hot and they’re fairly inexpensive.

Tuesday’s Sports Betting Best Bets: Guardians/Yankees under 7 (-110), 7:38 p.m. ET
Tanner Bibee owns a 2.54 ERA over his last five starts, averaging 5 2/3 innings of work while allowing 5.0 hits and 1.6 earned runs per outing. He’s been even sharper of late than Gerrit Cole, who has been solid himself. Cole owns a 3.38 ERA over his last five starts. That includes a masterful performance against the Royals to close out the ALDS.
In that game, Cole pitched seven innings, allowed one run on six hits as the Yankees prevailed 3-1. Over his last five starts, Cole is averaging 6 1/3 innings of work. During that span, he’s allowing 4.4 hits and 2.4 runs per outing.
Tuesday’s Sports Betting Best Bets: Kennesaw State Owls +10, 8:00 p.m. ET
I don’t know why the Owls are catching 10 points in this matchup. Kennesaw State is horrendous, but Middle Tennessee is in the same conversation. The Owls are 1-4 against the spread on the season, but the Blue Raiders are 1-5 at the betting window.
While Kennesaw State ranks dead last in ESPN’s FPI in offensive efficiency, Middle Tennessee is dead last in defensive efficiency. While the Owls are 129th in defensive efficiency, the Blue Raiders rank 121st in offensive efficiency.
Thus, this is a fairly even matchup based on the metrics, yet one team is laying 10 points. Home field advantage ain’t worth that much.
