Miami Marlins Fantasy Spin
Jose Urena improved to 3-6 after allowing two runs in seven innings Monday against the Nationals. Two of Urena’s wins this year have come against the Nationals in starts in which he’s been opposed by Max Scherzer. The other came last week against the Tigers. While Urena’s ERA stands at 2.77 in his last eight starts, nothing about his strikeout rate inspires much confidence. He doesn’t come recommended in mixed leagues.
San Diego Padres Fantasy Spin
Nick Margevicius will start for the Padres on Saturday against the Marlins. Margevicius got off to a nice start this season but was sent down earlier this month after a rough stretch. He’s not guaranteed anything beyond Saturday but isn’t a bad streaming option against the horrible Marlins offense.
MLB Betting Trends
Miami
The Marlins are 20-41 in their last 61 games overall.
San Diego
The Padres have won six of their last eight games versus a right-handed starter.
Prediction:
The Marlins are 1-6 in their last seven games versus the Padres and have dropped four straight contests at Petco Park. They’re also 0-4 in Urena’s last four starts versus the Padres and have dropped eight of his last 11 outings overall. The Padres, meanwhile, are 7-3 in their last 10 games overall and have won four straight at home.
The Pick: San Diego Padres –
