Oakland A’s Fantasy Spin
Robbie Grossman went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Sunday’s loss to the Astros. Grossman hit a two-run home run off Astros starter Brad Peacock in the second inning, and he finished just a triple shy of the cycle in the contest. The homer was the first of the year for the outfielder. Grossman signed a one-year deal on February 15 but was immediately given a premium lineup spot and an everyday role in the A’s outfield, hitting .250/.294/.406 with a homer, two steals and six runs scored out of the leadoff spot to date
Baltimore Orioles Fantasy Spin
Jonathan Villar went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a double in Sunday’s loss to the Yankees. Villar and the O’s did manage to scrape together three runs in the seventh inning, but by that point, it was too little, too late. The Yankees ended up winning this one in a 15-3 blowout. Setting aside the sour, embarrassing result on Sunday, Villar is off to a nice start to the campaign, having now picked up multiple hits in five of his 10 games played.
MLB Betting Trends
Oakland
The A’s have won five of their last six meetings with the Orioles.
Baltimore
The Orioles have taken nine of their last 13 games versus the A’s in Baltimore.
Prediction:
The Orioles have not been successful with Cashner on the hill. They’ve lost 20 of his last 28 starts overall and are 4-10 in his last 14 outings at Oriole Park. Baltimore is also 0-6 in Cashner’s last six starts versus the American League West and has dropped 10 of his last 13 outings following a Quality Start in his last appearance. I like their poor series in Houston.
The Pick: Oakland A’s -128
