Padres vs. Dodgers, 10/7/20 Game 2 NL Divisional MLB Playoff Predictions

Padres vs. Dodgers Game 2 Prediction

The Dodgers’ bats finally woke up in the fifth and sixth innings in Game 1 of their NL Divisional round series versus the Padres on Tuesday. Will that offense carry over into Game 2 on Wednesday night? First pitch is set for 9:08 p.m. ET.

San Diego Padres DFS Spin

Austin Nola drove in the only run of the game for the Padres in a loss on Tuesday in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Dodgers. Nola gave the Padres a brief lead with an RBI single off Walker Buehler in the fourth inning to make it 1-0. The Padres wouldn’t score the rest of the game, as the Dodgers’ bullpen shut down the quality San Diego lineup. Nola also drew a walk, and has been an impressive performer for both the Mariners and Padres in the 2020 campaign. He’s under team control through 2025.

Los Angeles Dodgers DFS Spin

Justin Turner drove in a run and scored twice in the Dodgers’ Game 1 victory over the Padres on Tuesday in the NLDS. The Dodgers only had four hits in this game, but they were able to put up five runs in large part to the fact that they drew 10 free passes. Turner drew two of those. The veteran infielder extended the L.A. lead with an opposite-field single in the sixth inning to 3-1, and he came around to score on a Cody Bellinger infield hit. Turner just keeps on hitting, and these playoffs are a bit of a showcase for a player that hits free agency at the end of the postseason.

Padres vs. Dodgers Game 2 Betting Prediction

The Dodgers are now 5-0 in their last five games and given the pitching situation or the Padres, I’m backing L.A. again tonight. The Padres were able to out-slug the Cardinals in the wild card round but they won’t be able to do that against a Dodgers team that has just as much – if not more – firepower. The Cardinals were flummoxed by the Padres’ bullpen game in Game 3 of the wild card series because they only have two consistent hitters. But as the playoff days continue to roll on, that bullpen will become more and more fatigued.
