Rome favored to win 2024 bid
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Oddsmakers currently list Rome, Italy as the favorite to be the city to win the bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Rome is a 6/5 favorite to be the city to win the bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Hamberg, Germany has the next best odds at 2/1 while Paris, France is 11/5 and Boston, Massachusetts is the current long shot at 4/1.
On Friday it was reported that Rome’s bid to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games had been endorsed by the Italian Olympic Committee.
“We want these Games to be an opportunity for growth and investment for the whole country,” said bid president Luca di Montezemolo.
The deadline for bid applications is September 15, set by the International Olumpic Committee. The IOC will make the choice of host city in April or May of 2016.
