However, this is no Garcia repeat as Margarito now prepares for perhaps the biggest match of his life against Manny Pacquiao for the vacant WBC Super Welterweight title. Strengths: After being caught using doctored hand wraps, Margarito has a ton to prove here. And who better to do it against than one of the most accomplished boxers in the world in Manny Pacquiao? As a lot of naysayers are calling Margarito a tainted fighter, now is the time where he can step up and prove his 38 victories are no fluke. Margarito has also shown he has as tough of a chin as anyone and that will be put to the test through a flurry of Pacquiao punches.
Weaknesses: Losing to Shane Mosley robbed Margarito of a possible defining moment in his career. This is another opportunity and his chances could be running thin if he loses this fight, especially if it is in one-sided fashion. Those pressures could mount on Margarito even before the fight begins and play a role in how he boxes. Pressing too much early could result in falling into the wrong Pacquiao punch, one that could end his night.
