UFC on FOX 2 Odds
CHICAGO, IL (TheSpread) – The UFC airs its second show on FOX this Saturday night with UFC on FOX 2 featuring a couple of bouts that could determine championship contenders.
View Real-Time Sports Betting Odds
The main event of Saturday’s card features a light heavyweight clash between Rashad Evans (16-1-1) and Phil Davis (9-0). The winner, especially if it is Evans, will likely be the No. 1 contender to the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Oddsmakers have Evans as the slight favorite, with a money line of -170, while Davis has odds of +140 to win the contest. Evans is coming off a win over Tito Ortiz last August and he has won three straight since losing the title back in May of 2009. He has bulked up over the years and has powerful striking with one of the best wrestling bases in the division. Davis is unbeaten, but he is making a big step up in competition. He is largely wrestling-based, but that could be an issue in this fight, as he may not be able to get the fight to the ground. Unless his striking has greatly improved, I don’t see him winning a striking battle with Evans.
In the co-main event, Chael Sonnen (26-11-1) takes on Michael Bisping (22-3) for the right to be the No. 1 contender to the UFC Middleweight Championship. Oddsmakers have Sonnen as the clear favorite, with a money line of -450, while Bisping comes in with odds of +350. Sonnen is an elite wrestler that just likes to pressure opponents and not give them a chance to breath. His striking isn’t great, and his real weakness is his submission defense. Bisping is a striker and boxer that likes to stick and move. He doesn’t have great punching power, but he can swarm an opponent quickly. His wrestling defense isn’t real strong, which will pose a problem against Sonnen. Where Bisping’s best chance to win may come is in the submission game while on his back.
