UFC 161 will take place from the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET.
The main event of Saturday’s card is a battle for the UFC Light Heavyweight bout with Rashad Evans (17-3-1) taking on Dan Henderson (29-9). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Evans is the slight favorite to win this bout, as he has odds of -125 to win, while Henderson has a money line of -105 to win. Both men are powerful strikers, but Henderson tends to be the more aggressive fighter. Both men also have a great wrestling background, which they tend to use to keep the fight standing. The key in this fight will be conditioning, as Henderson has fatigued in five-round fights, while Evans typically is in shape to push a hard pace for 25 minutes.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is a heavyweight bout between Roy Nelson (19-7) and Stipe Miocic (9-1). According to oddsmakers, Nelson is the favorite to win, as he has odds of -250 to win, while Miocic has odds of +200. Nelson is on a three-fight win streak, with all three wins coming by first round KO. He fought in April, but only needed about one punch to get the win. Miocic is coming off his first loss back in September to Stefan Struve, which doesn’t bode well for this fight, as Nelson hits much harder than Struve. Miocic will need to somehow win the grappling battle, but he is a small heavyweight and Nelson is a jiu-jitsu black belt.
