WINNIPEG, Manitoba (The Spread) – Rashad Evans picked up a key win over Dan Henderson on Saturday night as part of UFC 161, but it wasn’t easy.

Evans (18-3-1) earned a split decision win over Henderson (29-10), thanks to his speed and quickness. Henderson came out strong in the beginning, but Evans got better as the fight went on. The second round could have been scored for either man, but Evans got the nod on two of the judges’ cards. The third saw Evans control the round thanks to his conditioning. When all was said and done, both men felt they won, but Evans got the nod in a very close bout. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Evans had odds of -125 to win this bout, which means a wager of $125 on him to win will pay out an additional $100.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card featured a big upset as Stipe Miocic (10-1) defeated Roy Nelson (19-8) by unanimous decision. Miocic showed greatly improved striking, using his angles and speed to beat Nelson to the punch. A hefty amount of strikes slowly wore Nelson down and allowed Miocic to continue his successful game plan. According to oddsmakers, Miocic had odds of +300 to win this bout, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $300.
