Weidman defeats Silva
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Anderson Silva had his lengthy title reign end on Saturday, losing to Chris Weidman by knockout.

In the bout for the UFC Middleweight championship, Silva (33-5) looked to have the fight in control, but he elected to taunt Weidman and challenge him to punch him. Well, Weidman did punch him. Weidman (10-0) caught Silva with a hook during the taunting that sent him to the mat. Weidman followed up with a flurry and got the KO victory. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Weidman had a money line of +190 to win this fight, which means a wager of $100 on Weidman will pay out an additional $190.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card Frankie Edgar (16-4-1) defeated Charles Oliveira (16-4) by decision. It was a competitive bout for a full 15 minutes, but Edgar managed to land more powerful strikes and mix in takedowns. Oliveira had moments of impressive displays, but not enough to get the victory. According to oddsmakers, Edgar had a money line of -550 to win, which means a wager of $550 on Edgar will pay out an additional $100.
