UFC 163 will take place from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET. All odds are according to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv.
UFC FLYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BOUT – Jose Aldo (22-1) vs. Chan Sung Jung (13-3)
Aldo and Jung should put on a great fight. Both men are aggressive in their fighting style and both can take a fair amount of punishment. I think the key in this fight will be the leg kicks of Aldo, which should slow down Jung and keep him from being too aggressive as the fight moves on. Jung will have a hard time generating power or getting takedowns if his legs are weakened by Aldo’s thunderous kicks. Look for Aldo to pick up a decision win. UFC 163 FREE PICK – Jose Aldo -750
UFC LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT – Lyoto Machida (19-3) vs. Phil Davis (11-1)
This seems to be a bad matchup for Davis. Machida is very tough to get down to the ground, and that is really the only way I can see Davis winning the fight. Davis’ striking is just not at a level where he can compete with Machida. Machida is much faster and his strikes are more powerful. He should be able to pick Davis apart and earn a decision in front of his countrymen. UFC 163 FREE PICK – Lyoto Machida -350
UFC MIDDLEWEIGHT BOUT – Thales Leites (20-4) vs. Tom Watson (16-5)
This fight should be pretty evenly matched, but I like a slim upset with Watson. Leites is a tremendous submission fighter, but he struggles with strikers and opponents that can out-muscle him. I think Watson can do that. This is a big fight for Watson and I think he will have a smart and conservative fight. Look for him to mix up takedowns with solid striking to earn a decision win. UFC 163 FREE PICK – Tom Watson +100
