The UFC Fight Night 26 will take place from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with the main card bouts airing live on the new FOX Sports 1 at 8PM ET on Saturday. All odds are according to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv.
UFC LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT – Chael Sonnen (27-13-1) vs. Mauricio Rua (21-7)
Look for Sonnen to win this one. The longer the fight goes, the more it favors him because Rua has been known to tire quickly. Sonnen likes to pressure his opponents and keep them working and his wrestling is strong enough to get Shogun to the ground. The only way Rua wins this fight is by KO or submission, and it will have to happen in the first two rounds. I don’t see that happening, which means Sonnen will get the decision victory. UFC FREE PICK – Chael Sonnen -140
UFC HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT – Alistair Overeem (36-12) vs. Travis Browne (14-1-1)
This fight should be a striking battle. Overeem has the accuracy and power to his game, while Browne is more diverse with his striking and capable of winning the fight on the ground if it goes there. Overeem will probably take this one, as he has fought much stronger striking opponents in the past and ran right through them. If Overeem is in shape and focused, he will win by knockout. UFC FREE PICK – Alistair Overeem -225
UFC WELTERWEIGHT BOUT – Mike Pyle (25-8-1) vs. Matt Brown (17-11)
This fight should be very competitive, but look for Pyle to get the nod in a minor upset. Brown has the striking and strength, but Pyle has the experience and grappling advantage. Brown will need to keep the fight standing to win, while Pyle should be able to submit Brown when the fight hits the ground. Brown has had nine of his 11 losses come by submission, and I see a 10th set to happen on Saturday. UFC FREE PICK – Mike Pyle +130
