Mayweather will be defending his WBA (Super), WBC and The Ring Welterweight championships against Berto on Saturday, Sept. 12 from the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Mayweather (48-0) is looking to complete his career without a loss but is facing a rather lackluster opponent in Berto (30-3), who is just 3-3 in his last six fights.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Mayweather is the clear favorite in this fight, as he has odds of -3000 to win, while Berto has been given a money line of +1700 to win this fight.
Mayweather is making the media rounds trying to hype this fight as a big deal, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of interest following his win over Manny Pacquiao, a fight that had all the hype and provided little excitement when it actually took place. Now at 38, Mayweather insists this is his last fight, as his Showtime deal is expiring. The draw for this fight could be that it is the last of Mayweather, who has a flawless record. However, Berto has little to no drawing power and this fight seems to just be an exhibition for Mayweather.
