According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Hunt comes into this fight as the favorite, as he has -185 odds to win. Lesnar is listed with a +150 money line to prevail. These two meet up tonight at UFC 200 in the co-main event, which begins at 10PM ET on PPV. The event will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Lesnar (5-3) is the former UFC heavyweight champion, but lost his last two bouts by first round TKO before stepping away from the cage in 2011. He claims that his battle with diverticulitis was the main reason for his losses and his retirement. Now healthy, Lesnar wanted another shot in the octagon. He gets it against Hunt (12-10-1), a tough veteran that hits hard and can take a lot of punishment. Hunt has won his last two fights by first-round KO.
One big issue with Lesnar was his inability to deal with getting hit. He often lost his cool when taking damage and was unable to stay composed. In this fight, he has to understand he is going to get hit, and get hit hard. If he has the ability to move on from that, he can definitely win this fight. Lesnar has the clear wrestling and size advantage, but he is going to have to eat a punch or two to get this fight to the ground. Hunt can take punishment, but he’s not in the best of shape. If he has to carry Lesnar’s weight for most of the fight, his arms will tire out and he will be a sitting duck. If Hunt is going to win, it is going to be in the first round. I feel good about the underdog in this fight. Lesnar will fight smart and avoid getting knocked out before taking the fight to the ground and winning with dominant ground and pound.
