Breazeale is listed with a money line of +550 to win, while the over/under for the bout is listed at 9.5 rounds. Saturday’s bout will air live on Showtime. The main card begins at 9PM ET from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Bet on Wilder vs. Breazeale Odds
Deontay Wilder
Wilder is the WBC heavyweight champion and comes into the fight with a 41-0-1 record. His lone draw was his last fight against Tyson Fury on Dec. 1 in Los Angeles. Of his 41 wins, 40 have come by knockout. Wilder is an impressive fighter, standing 6-foot-7 with tremendous power and good speed with his hands. Though some thought he was out-boxed by Fury, he still managed to send his opponent to the mat late in the fight.
Dominic Breazeale
The challenger is 20-1 over his career with 18 wins by knockout. He is the same age as his opponent tonight, 33, but has far less experience. He is coming off a ninth-round KO win over Carlos Negron. His lone loss was on June 25, 2016, a seventh-round TKO loss to Anthony Joshua. Like Wilder, Breazeal is 6-7 and also provides a lot of power. Both are also orthodox fighters.
Prediction
Experience is probably going to go a long way here. Wilder has faced much tougher competition and been in bigger spotlights than Breazeale. Boxing always provides the chance for a puncher’s upset, but Wilder showed he can certainly take a punch against Fury. Wilder is likely to connect at some point in this fight and that is going to be punching power that Breazeale hasn’t experienced yet. I definitely think Wilder will win and I would consider going with under 9.5 rounds as part of my wager.
Boxing Prediction: Deontay Wilder -900
