Cerrone (25-6) meets Jury (15-0) in the co-main event of this card with each man looking to make a case to be the No. 1 contender with a win. Cerrone has won five straight fights, including four in 2014. He has a muay thai striking style to go along with some great submissions on the ground. Jury is unbeaten in his career and 6-0 in the UFC. He is also a striker, but more of a boxer than the kicking style Cerrone uses. Jury will be fighting in the biggest bout of his career.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Cerrone is the favorite to win this fight, as he has odds of -200 to prevail, while Jury has a money line of +160 to win. This bout will take place on Saturday night from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and air on PPV at 10PM ET.
With two talented strikers this fight is going to come down to either wrestling or which striker is able to push forward. Cerrone likes to move forward and bully his opponents, but has struggled when opponents beat him to the punch. Jury has the hand speed to do so, but may be timid fighting in his first co-main event. In a wrestling battle, Jury probably has the edge, but he likely would only turn to that if his striking isn’t working.
