UFC 136 takes place Saturday night and the main card will air live on Pay-Per-View at 9PM ET. There will be two prelims that air live on Spike TV starting at 8PM ET, and the remaining prelims will stream live on Facebook around 6PM ET.
The main event of Saturday’s card is the long-awaited rubber match between UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar and challenge Gray Maynard. These two fought to a draw back at UFC 125 and Maynard actually owns a win over Edgar from back in 2008. Still, Edgar comes into the fight as a slight favorite, as he has odds of -150 against Maynard, while Maynard has a money line of +120 to win. Edgar (13-1-1) barely survived the first round against Maynard (10-0-1) in their last fight. Maynard pummeled him for the first five minutes, nearly finishing the fight on multiple occasions. Edgar survived and actually controlled three of the final four rounds to manage the 5-round draw after losing the opener 10-8 on most scorecards. Both men can strike and grapple, so neither has a clear advantage on the other. Edgar looks to have the better conditioning and speed, but Maynard has the power edge.
The co-main event features a UFC Featherweight Championship bout as Jose Aldo defends his title against Kenny Florian. Aldo comes into the fight as the clear favorite to retain his title, with odds of -345 while Florian has a money line of +275 to win the championship. Florian (14-5) has had just one fight at featherweight and had two failed attempts at winning the lightweight championship. This could be his final chance at winning a UFC title. Aldo (19-1) has torn through most of the top featherweights in the world, as he has won 12-straight fights. Also will have a clear striking edge with his devastating leg kicks, but Florian may be the better grappler. He also has very sharp elbows that provide nasty cuts when they land.
