In Saturday’s main event, Condit and Nick Diaz went the distance of five, five-minute rounds for the Interim Welterweight Championship. Each of the rounds was close with Diaz getting off to a strong start and Condit finding his groove late with his striking. The judges scored the fight 49-46, 49-46, 48-47 in favor of Condit. Afterwards, Diaz decided that he would not return to MMA action because he felt that he had won the fight, but Condit seemed to inflict more damage for the entire bout. According to oddsmakers, Condit has a money line of +165 to win the interim title, so a $100 wager on Condit will pay out an additional $165.
In the co-main event, Fabricio Werdum picked up a decision win over Roy Nelson in the heavyweight division. Werdum came into the bout as a slight favorite, with a money line of -150, meaning a wager of $150 will pay out an additional $100. Despite being a jiu-jitsu specialist, Werdum used superior striking to out-point Nelson. Werdum utilized a muay thai clinch to hit Nelson with some big knees early and Nelson never seemed to recover, allowing Werdum to pick him apart over the final two rounds.
