View Real-Time Sports Betting Odds

Cormier (16-1) is the defending champion who is putting his title up for the first time. Gustafsson (16-3) has fought for the title once before, taking Jon Jones to a five-round war that he lost by decision. However, Gustafsson is coming off a first-round KO loss to Anthony Johnson last January. Cormier actually beat Johnson to win the vacant title in May by third-round submission.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Cormier is the favorite to retain his title, as he is getting odds of -325 to win this bout, while Gustafsson is getting a money line of +250 to win. This fight is the main event of UFC 192 and it takes place on Saturday from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The event airs live on PPV at 10PM ET.

Size could be an issue in this fight as Gustafsson stands 6-4, while Cormier is just 5-11. Gustafsson has good movement to stay out of grappling situations, which he needs to in order to win this fight. Cormier is arguably the top wrestler in MMA and he will look to get this fight to the ground. Gustafsson wants the fight to stay standing where he can use his footwork to pick apart the champ with his kicks and punches. Cormier’s lone loss came against Jones, whose length posed a real issue for him. Gustafsson has similar length, but his takedown defense may not be as strong.
