HOLLYWOOD, FL (The Spread) – Can Lyoto Machida remain in the mix in the middleweight division when he faces Yoel Romero in the main event of UFC Fight Night.
View Real-Time Sports Betting Odds
Machida (22-6) is a former UFC champion at 205 pounds but he has since moved down to 185 pounds. He is just 1-2 in his last three bouts, losing to the current champion and No.1 contender. Romero (9-1) is a bit newer to the scene. He is 5-0 in the UFC and looking to pick up the biggest win of his career to this point.
The latest odds according to the sportsbooks have Machida favored in the fight, as he is getting odds of -190 to win, while Romero has odds of +155 to win tonight. This fight is the main event of UFC Fight Night from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and will air live on Fox Sports 1 at 10PM ET.
Despite a rough year, Machida is still one of the best there is. Romero has his hands full tonight. While Romero has big power, he is going to be a little slower than Machida, due to his muscular frame. Machida should be able to stick and move and hit his powerful counter strikes while Romero tires out throughout the bout, carrying a lot of muscle mass. As this fight hits the later rounds, Machida should be able to capitalize and score a TKO or submission finish.
UFC FIGHT NIGHT FREE PICK: Lyoto Machida -190
