Saturday’s main event features Chad Mendes (16-2) taking on Ricardo Lamas (15-3). These two are the last two men to face current champion Jose Aldo. Both men lost unanimous decisions and are looking to get back in the title picture. Mendes hasn’t competed since his loss to Aldo in October. His lone two losses in his career are to Aldo. Lamas has won his last two fights since a loss to Aldo in February of 2014.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Mendes is the favorite in this fight, as he has odds of -450 to win. Lamas comes in with a money line of +325 to prevail. This fight is the main event of UFC Fight Night, which will be held from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. The event will air live on Fox Sports 1 at 1PM ET.

Bet on UFC Fight Night Odds

Mendes has a strong wrestling background that he has since turned into a strong striking game. He could wrestle his opponents and likely win, but he has been beating people on his feet in recent years. Four of his last five wins have been by KO with his hands. Lamas also has some good striking, but he likes to fight out of the clinch and use his submission skills when on the ground. He is a diverse fighter that will likely not be as strong as Mendes, so he will have to use movement to win.
