Holm (10-0) pulled off the biggest upset in UFC betting history on Saturday, defeating Rousey (12-1) by second-round KO. Holm was getting a money line of +900 to win Saturday’s UFC 193 main event, while Rousey was getting odds of -2000. The fight was dominated by Holm, who used her world-class boxing skills to keep Rousey at a distance and then picked her apart.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Rousey remains the favorite to win if the two have a rematch, as she is currently listed with odds of -175 to win. Holm is listed with a money line of +150 to win a potential rematch.
Rousey seemed unbeatable coming into the fight, but she perhaps was too confident in her striking skills, as she was much slower to the punch than Holm and seemed to get rattled when her face started to take some serious punishment. Holm was able to avoid an arm bar attempt when the two went to the ground and her quickness kept Rousey from grappling with her. The big question now is how will Rousey respond to this loss and game plan for the rematch? If she enters the fight thinking she can win with striking, the same result can be expected. If she finds ways to get the fight to the ground, then she has a much better chance.
