Jedrzejczyk (9-0) is unbeaten in her career and coming off a second-round KO of inaugural UFC champion, Carla Esparza. The champion is 2-0 in the UFC and displayed a great level of striking ability in her title victory. Penne (12-2) is 1-0 in the UFC and she has won her last two fights. She was a member of The Ultimate Fighter that crowned the first champion. She lost in the semifinals to Esparza.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jedrzejczyk is the clear favorite to win this fight, as she has a money line of -800 to prevail, while Penne has been given odds of +500 to win. This fight will be the main event of UFC Fight Night, which takes place from the O2 Arena in Berlin Germany and will air live on UFC Fight Pass, starting at 3PM ET.
The odds are what they are for a reason. Jedrzejczyk looked like an absolute monster in her last fight, as she dominated Esparza. She showed great grappling ability with her takedowns defenses, and her striking was on point and delivered with power. Penne comes into this fight a gamer, but she will be heavily outmatched on her feet and doesn’t have the wrestling ability of Esparza, who failed to keep Jedrzejczyk down. Penne will need to execute a perfect game plan, or catch a little luck to win.
