According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, Dos Anjos is favored to retain his title, as he is getting odds of -210 to win this fight, while Cerrone is getting a money line of +170 to prevail. These two meet on tonight from the Amway Center in Orlando, FL. They are the main event of a card that airs live on FOX at 8PM ET.
Dos Anjos (24-7) is defending his title for the first time since winning it over Anthony Pettis last March. Cerrone (28-6) is on an eight-fight win streak since losing to Dos Anjos by decision back on Aug. 28, 2013. RDA is riding a four-fight win streak of his own. Both men have strong power in their striking while Dos Anjos also is a jiu-jitsu specialist.
Dos Anjos has shown a big improvement in his striking over the last few years. He put that on display in the title win over Pettis. He has a good mix of striking and takedowns right now, which could be an issue for Cerrone, who relies on his striking to win. Cerrone is the stronger fighter when it comes to technical striking, so if he is able to land one of his big kicks or knees, he can certainly win the fight. However, those kicks and knees will also leave him susceptible to takedowns. Look for Dos Anjos to mix things up successfully and grind out a win over Cerrone.
