According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, Johnson is the favorite in this fight, as he is getting odds of -275 to prevail, while Bader has been given a money line of +215 to win. These two meet in the main event of the UFC on FOX tonight at 8PM ET from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
Johnson (20-5) is a former No. 1 contender that has found a lot of success in the 205-pound division. After suffering a submission loss in a title fight last May, he bounced back with a second-round KO win over Jimi Manuwa in September. His last three wins have been by KO. Bader (20-4) is riding a five-fight win streak, but all by decision. He has beaten some impressive opponents, including Rashad Evans last October.
These fighters each have clear strengths that will likely play out for the winner. Johnson is an extremely strong and powerful fighter. He has one-punch and one-kick KO power and his strength allows him to stay off his back early on in fights. However, Johnson has a very questionable gas tank that has cost him in previous losses. Bader, while not possessing great striking power, has a great gas tank and he uses wrestling to grind out wins. However, Bader has a questionable chin, as he has been knocked out in his last two losses. The real question is, can Bader survive the early storm from Johnson? If he can, then he can grind out the win. If not, he will probably get knocked out. I think Johnson finds a way to finish in the first two rounds.
UFC ON FOX FREE PICK: ANTHONY JOHNSON -275
