Dillashaw (11-2) is defending his title for the second time. He won the belt from Barao (33-2) in a major upset back in May of 2014 and the two were set to have a rematch in August of last year, but Barao fainted after making weight. Barao fought in December and won by submission to get back on track. The loss to Dillashaw at UFC 173 was his first loss since his debut in 2005.
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Dillashaw is favored to win this fight, as he has odds of -235 to retain his belt, while Barao has been given odds o f+190 to win. This fight will be the main event of UFC on FOX, which takes place from the United Center on Saturday at 8PM ET and it will air live on FOX.
Dillashaw used tremendous footwork to pick apart Barao in their first fight, but he was a late replacement heading into the title bout. Barao was set to face Raphael Assuncao, but an injury forced Dillashaw into the fight. Many speculate that Barao took the fight lightly, as he never looked himself. Dillashaw hasn’t fought in nearly a year while Barao has been hungry for a chance to redeem himself.
