After years of back-and-forth between the two fighter camps, it seems possible that Mayweather and Pacquiao could finally meet in the ring. During an interview last week with Showtime, Mayweather said the following:
“We are ready. Let’s make it happen. May 2. Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao. Let’s do it.”
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, they still don’t see this fight taking place on May 2, as the odds for it to happen on that date have been given odds of +125. The odds of the fight happening on another date, or not at all, have been set at -175.
The big issue between these two camps has always been money, as Pacquiao has wanted an even cut of the purse with Mayweather, and Mayweather hasn’t budged that wouldn’t be the case. He still insists that’s not the case this time either, as Pacquiao has lost two fights over the last few years while he is undefeated.
