2010 NASCAR Autism Speaks 400 Picks & Predictions

This weekend, all three NASCAR series will race on the one-mile, high-banked concrete oval at Dover International Speedway, with the Autism Speaks 400 highlighting the long weekend of racing.

Bet the Autism Speaks 400

Dover International Speedway, also known as the Monster Mile, is like no other track on the circuit in that drivers either love or hate it, with the latter being the case on most occasions.

What makes Dover so unique is its concrete racing surface, which is the only time drivers in the Sprint series will race on it all year. Throw in the 24-degree banking in the turns and you have one of the faster tracks on the circuit. The only track similar to it is Bristol, so when handicapping this race you want to look for drivers who not only have done well in Dover, but at Bristol as well.

Jeff Gordon 6/1

Once again, Jeff Gordon had the car to beat last week and like many other times this year, he came up short. While Dover isn't one of his better tracks, he has run well here in the past and with the way he has ran all year, we will back him again this week to end his run of bad luck.

Live Longshots

Greg Biffle 20/1

Some drivers either love or hate racing at Dover and for Greg Biffle it is possibly one of his favorite tracks. In his last 10 starts here, Biffle has two wins and eight top 10 finishes, and leads all drivers with a 5.5 average finish over those 10 races. Biffle has been running up front most of the year and a return to his favorite track might just get him his first win in quite a while.

Carl Edwards 25/1

One of the many nicknames Carl Edwards has is "Concrete Carl," due to the fact that he has always excelled on concrete tracks in every series he has raced in. In his last seven races at Dover, he has one win and has only finished outside of the top 10 once. Though Edwards has been in a slump most of the year, what better place to bust out of a slump but one of his best tracks?
