Denny Hamlin is one good race away from becoming the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion. Hamlin looks to get it in the season finale, the Ford 400, on Sunday.
Hamlin leads Jimmie Johnson by 15 points in the standings with the one race remaining. Kevin Harvick is 46 points out of first, as those three are the only drivers with a chance to win the season title. Hamlin has been named the favorite to win Sunday’s race according to oddsmakers at online sportsbook Sportsbook.com with 3/1 odds to win while Jimmie Johnson has 5/1 odds and Harvick has 7/1 odds.
Hamlin has one win in his career at Homestead, along with three top 5’s. He has an average finish of 10.6 on the track and a driver rating of 94.7. On the year, Hamlin has won eight races.
Johnson has not won this event or at this track in his career. He has three top 5’s and six top 10’s at Homestead with an average finish of 12.7 and a driver rating of 92.9. On the season, Johnson has six wins and 16 top 5’s.
Harvick also hasn’t won at Miami, but he has four top 5’s and seven top 10’s. His average finish at the track is 8.4 and his driver rating is 101.1. This season, Harvick has three wins and 15 top 5’s.
