Coming off a pair of wins in the last two weeks, Jimmie Johnson is favored to win this week’s race as well.

Johnson is a 9/2 favorite to win the race according to odds makers at the online sports book Sports Interaction. Other short odds to win are Mark Martin (8/1), Jeff Gordon (8/1), and Kyle Busch (10/1).

Johnson won this event in 2007 and he holds three career victories on this track to go along with nine top 5’s and 11 top 10’s. His average finish on this track is 10.7 and his driver rating is 110.1, which ranks first among active drivers. Despite his two wins, Johnson is fifth in the standings, 63 points behind leader Kevin Harvick.

Martin has won twice on this track but not won this specific event. He does hold 14 top 5’s and 23 top 10’s in Atlanta in his career. His average finish is 13.7 and his driver rating is 95.4, which ranks sixth in the series. Martin currently sits third in the standings and has not finished worse than 12th in any of the three races this year.

Gordon is a two-time winner of this event and a four-time winner on this track. He also holds 14 top 5’s and 23 top 10’s in his career in Atlanta. His average finish is 12.3 while his driver rating is 102.2, which ranks third in the series. Gordon sits 13th in the standings with two finishes outside the top 15 this year.

Kyle Busch won this event in 2008 and is his lone victory on the track. He holds two top 5’s and two top 10’s in Atlanta. His average finish is 17.7 while his driver rating is 90.3, which ranks 10th in the series at this track. Busch is 12th in the standings right now as he has finished 14th or 15th in all three races this season.
