The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series hosts its annual all-star event this Saturday as the top drivers will compete in the 2010 Sprint All-Star Race from Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Bet the Sprint All-Star Race

In this exhibition race, each driver competes for 100 laps in four different segments. The race starts with a 50-lap segment where drivers have to make a mandatory 4-tire green flag pit stop on lap 25. Then the race has two 20-lap segments before taking a 10-minute break, and concluding with a 10-lap green flag shootout to determine the winner, who receives $1 million for the victory.

For this event, perennial favorites Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch are favored to win.

The two have been given 9/2 odds to win according to odds makers at the online sports book BroburySports.com. Other short odds to win are Jeff Gordon (5/1) and Denny Hamlin (8/1).

Johnson won this event in 2006 and 2003 while also finishing in the top four in 2008 and 2007. Last year, Johnson placed 13th in this event. Johnson is currently fourth in the standings, 131 points behind Kevin Harvick for first place. Johnson has three wins in 2010.

Busch has not won this event and his best finish was seventh in 2009. Busch is second in the standings, 69 points out of first. Busch has won two of the last three Sprint Cup events.

Gordon won this event in 2001, 1997, and 1995 but he has finished outside the top 10 the last three years. Gordon is sixth in the standings, 163 points behind Harvick. Gordon is winless in 2010.

Hamlin finished fourth in this race a year ago, his best finish in the All-Star exhibition. Hamlin is fifth in the current standings, 150 points out of first. Hamlin has three wins in 2010.

The Sprint All-Star Race will take place Saturday, May 22 from Charlotte Motor Speedway at 9PM ET. For complete odds and track information on this year’s event, see below.
