2010 NASCAR Odds - Sprint Showdown – Biffle & Edwards Favored
The 2010 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race is scheduled for Saturday but one driver will still get his spot in the field if he wins the 2010 Sprint Showdown.
An exhibition race that precedes the All-Star, drivers that have yet to qualify for the All-Star get their chance to compete, with the winner earning a spot in the million-dollar race. The race will be a 40-lap sprint to the finish.
The field for this race isn’t too bad, as Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards are favored to win.
The two have been given 9/2 odds to win according to odds makers at the online sports book BroburySports.com. Other short odds to win are Jeff Burton (5/1), Clint Bowyer (5/1), and Juan Pablo Montoya (5/1).
Biffle is seventh in the Sprint Cup standings, 187 points behind Kevin Harvick for first. Biffle has eight top-10 finishes this year, second only to Harvick in the series. Biffle also has two top-5’s.
Edwards is 10th in the standings, 281 points out of first. He has six top-10’s and one top-5, but also has two DNF’s this year.
Burton is eighth in the standings, 199 points out of first. Burton has three top-5’s and five top-10’s this year.
Bowyer is 15th in the standings, 376 points out of first. Bowyer has six top-10’s and one top-5 finish this year to go along with two DNF’s.
Montoya is in 19th place in the standings, a distant 446 points out of first. Montoya has four top-5’s this year and six top-10’s, but has three DNF’s to his credit as well.
