2010 NASCAR Odds: Subway Fresh Fit 600 – Johnson Favored By Oddsmakers

The 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will race under the lights this week as it heads to Phoenix International Raceway for the 2010 Subway Fit Fresh 600.

This night race comes after the Sprint Cup series took a week off and four-time defending series champion, Jimmie Johnson, is favored to win the race.

Johnson is a 4/1 favorite to win the race according to odds makers at the online sports book BroburySports.com. Other short odds to win are Kurt Busch (7/1), Jeff Gordon (7/1), and Mark Martin (7/1).

Johnson won this event in 2008 and he hold four wins on this track in his career. Johnson has not finished outside of the top seven in this race since 2005. At Phoenix, Johnson has an average finish of 5.1 and a driver rating of 123, which ranks first in the series. Johnson is leading the standings by 14 points over Greg Biffle. He has three wins on the season.

Kurth Busch won this event in 2005 and finished third a year ago. Busch has four top 5’s and eight top 10’s in his career at this track. He has an average finish of 12th and a driver rating of 104.6, which ranks second in the series. Busch is currently sixth in the standings, 122 points behind Johnson. He has one win to his credit this season.

Gordon won this event in 2007. It was his only career victory on this track. Gordon has one win, eight top 5’s, and 16 top 10’s at Phoenix in his career. His average finish is 10.8 while his driver rating is 99.8, which ranks fourth in the series. Gordon is currently seventh in the Sprint Cup standings, 125 points behind Johnson. Gordon has two thirds this season, but all of the rest of his races have had him finishing outside the top 10.

Martin won this event last year and finished fifth in 2008. Martin has two wins in his career at this track as well as 11 top 5’s and 17 top 10’s. Martin has an average finish of 8.8 and a driver rating of 103.8, which ranks third in the series. Martin is 17th in the current standings, 214 points behind Johnson. Martin has two top 5’s on the season.
