2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship Odds To Win – Johnson Favored

The 2010 NASCAR Chase for the Championship get started this week and with the new standings out, the odds are also out for which driver will win the season title.

Jimmie Johnson enters the playoffs as the favorite to win according to the online sports book Sportsbook.com. Johnson has 5/2 odds to win while other short odds are Kevin Harvick (4/1), Denny Hamlin (9/2), and Kyle Busch (5/1)
10 races remain in the season and the leader following the 10 races is the 2010 Sprint Cup Champion. The top 12 drivers in the standings will compete for the title.
Jimmie Johnson has won the last four titles. He currently sits in second in the standings, 10 points behind Hamlin for the lead. Johnson has five wins on the year with 10 top 5’s.
Harvick has led the standings for most of the year, but with the added emphasis on winning races once the chase starts, Harvick has dropped to third in the standings. He is 30 points behind Hamlin. Harvick has three wins this year and 17 top 10’s. He has never won the Sprint Cup title.
Hamlin sits in the lead of the standings right now. He has six wins on the year and 10 top 5’s. Hamlin has never won the Sprint Cup title in his young career.
Kyle Busch is in fourth in the standings, 30 points outside of first. He has three wins and 8 top 5’s on the year. Busch has never won the Sprint Cup title.
Aside from Johnson, only Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch have won the Chase for the Championship. Stewart has 7/1 odds to win this year while Busch has 15/1 odds.
