2011 NASCAR Odds – Sylvania 300 – Johnson Favored By Oddsmakers

LOUDON, NH (TheSpread) – The 2011 NASCAR Chase for the Championship continues on Sunday with the running of the Sylvania 300 from New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
According to oddsmakers, Jimmie Johnson is the favorite to win with 5/1 odds while other short odds to win are Jeff Gordon (6/1), Tony Stewart (6/1), and Kevin Harvick (7/1).
Johnson is eighth in the current point standings and trails Harvick by 16 points. Johnson has one win and 11 top 5’s on the year. Johnson has three wins at New Hampshire and seven top 5’s. His average finish at the track is 9.6 while his driver rating is 105.8, which ranks third in the series.
Gordon is 11th in the point standings, 25 outside of first. He has three wins and 10 top 5’s on the year. Gordon has three wins at New Hampshire along with 14 top 5’s and 18 top 10’s. His average finish at the track is 11.0 while his driver rating is 107.3, which ranks second in the series.
Stewart is second in the point standings, 7 points out of first. Stewart won the first race in the Chase and has four top 5’s this year. Stewart has won two times at New Hampshire and he has an average finish of 12.0 at this track. His driver rating there is 114.0, which is best of any driver.
Harvick leads the point standings and he has four wins and eight top 5’s on the year. Harvick has one win at New Hampshire with an average finish of 14.2 and a driver rating of 91.1, which ranks 10th in the series.
