INDIANAPOLIS, IN (TheSpread) – The 2013 Indianapolis 500 is set to begin in a few hours. Here is a look at some of our suggested picks for this race.
The Indianapolis 500 will take place today at Noon ET from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. All of our picks are According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv.
Marco Andretti (13/2)
Andretti has some history of success at this track and he also has been driving well this season. All of the talk around Indianapolis Motor Speedway the past few weeks has been on the Andretti racing team, and Marco is the centerpiece of that. Andretti has a good starting position, as he begins third. He is the favorite for a reason.
Dario Franchitti 17/2
Franchitti has been very solid at Indy, winning three times in his career, including last year. Franchitti seems to find his way up front at the end of this race and we expect him to do the same this year. He starts 17th, which isn’t great, but he will have plenty of time to work his way into the lead. Franchitti is always a safe and smart play for the Indianapolis 500.
Takuma Sato 20/1
Sato hasn’t been great at Indianapolis, but he also hasn’t been with his current team, A.J. Foyt Enterprises, at this track either. Sato is having a big season thus far, claiming a win and a runner-up finish in two of his four IndyCar races this season. Sato currently leads the IndyCar point standings and he seems to have things figured out right now. With 20/1 odds, Sato is worth consideration, as a win would be a big payout.
