2013 NASCAR Daytona 500 Odds: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Favored To Win

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – The 2013 NASCAR Season will kickoff in a few weeks with the running of their annual classic, the Daytona 500. Here is a look at the odds to win this year’s race.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the favorite to win this race, as he has 9/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Kyle Busch (10/1), Brad Keselowski (12/1), Kevin Harvick (12/1) and Tony Stewart (12/1).
Earnhardt Jr. is a past winner of this event, as he took the title in 2004. He finished second last year and in 2010 as well. Junior finished 12th in the NASCAR standings last year and had one victory, which snapped a multi-year winless streak.
Busch has never won the Daytona 500. He placed 17th in this event last year and eighth in 2011. Busch finished 13th in the point standings last year. He had just one win on the season.
Keselowski has not had success at Daytona. He placed 32nd last year and his top showing is 29th, which he got in 2011. Keselowski won the Sprint Cup title last year thanks to his five victories for the season.
Harvick won this race in 2007. He has finished in the top 7 in three of his last four Daytona 500’s, including a second-place finish in 2009. Harvick was eighth in the 2012 point standings. He had one win last year.
Stewart has never won this race. He placed 16th last year and 13th in 2011. Stewart placed ninth in the point standings a year ago. He had three wins on the year.
