2015 NASCAR Daytona 500 Free Picks & Predictions

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (ATSConsultants) – The anticipation of the week is finally over and it is time for the Daytona 500. Here are some drivers we like to contend for the victory today.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is favored to win the race, as he has 7/1 odds, while Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson each have 8/1. The Daytona 500 takes place today at 1:30PM ET from Daytona International Speedway.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the favorite for a reason. He is the defending champion of the race and a two-time winner with a handful of second-place finishes. He has looked strong all week, winning Thursday’s duel and you have to believe he will be near the front at the end.
Denny Hamlin is another driver to consider. He has 14/1 odds and looking for his first Daytona 500 victory. Hamlin has an average finish of 19.6 at the track, which isn’t great, but he has been strong in recent runs. He was second last year and fourth in 2012. He also finished sixth in the summer race at this track.
If you are looking for a long shot, Sam Hornish Jr. might be your man. He will be competing in this race for the fourth time and he finished 15th in his 2008 debut. Hornish is stronger on the fast tracks and is someone that has low risk, high reward with 100/1 odds.
