SONOMA, CA (ATSConsultants) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup series drives on a road course today for the Toyota/Save Mart 350. Here is a look at some drivers we like for this race.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Kurt Busch is favored to win this race, as he has 4/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Jeff Gordon (6/1), Kevin Harvick (7/1) and Martin Truex Jr. (7/1). The Toyota/Save Mart 350 takes place from Sonoma Raceway on today at 3:19PM ET.
Jeff Gordon is a driver we like. He is a five-time winner at Sonoma and this is basically his home track. His average finish in this event is 8.0 and his driver rating is 103.4, which is among the best in the race. With him desperately needing a win to secure a Chase spot, look for Gordon to be very strong today.
Clint Bowyer comes into this race with 10/1 odds. He will be starting from the sixth spot, so he won’t have to battle any traffic in this clustered race. Bowyer is a former Sonoma winner and his average finish here is 9.2, while his driver rating is 95. Similar to Gordon, Bowyer needs a win, and a road course may be his best chance. Don’t be surprised if he emerges the winner today.
Casey Mears is a dark horse pick. He has 75/1 odds and he has never won at the track, but he does have a pair of top-10 finishes here. He will start near the front, in eighth position, which should help him stay up front early. He has had two of his best outings in his last two races and we think he will carry that into today and contend for a victory.
