Season recap, Edwards Opinion, Bristol Picks!

Part I:

To win as a NASCAR driver, racing luck is required. This makes winning at wagering on NASCAR even harder, and more frustrating, than any other sport.

To win at wagering on NASCAR, racing luck AND betting luck is required. On any wager, in any sport, luck is a factor, as any true handicapper will tell you. When you add crashes and engine trouble to the mix, it makes winning a tougher task.

And tough is how it’s been for Mr. NASCAR this season. Going into this week’s race at Bristol I am 4-5, minus $290.00. I’d rate my handicapping the same as last year, when it was a very profitable run banking over $1,000.00, but I haven’t had any luck – three of my five losses came because of crashes (in which I was an innocent bystander who got caught up in the wreck) or engine trouble, and two of those came in the final laps. This week, I’m riding at Bristol, where racing luck is needed more than ever. More on that at the end of this blog.

Part II:

Two weeks ago, Carl Edwards purposely bumped Brad Keselowski from behind, and sent him airborne at 195 MPH.

A lot of people condemned Edwards for his actions.

Mr. NASCAR says a lot of people should stick to watching tennis.

First: It’s called racing. Part of that involves making “racing moves” like bumping the guy in front of you.

Second: Brad-ski is well known as one of the dumbest racers on the track, a frequent cause of accidents, and had in fact bumped Edwards a few times before he justifiably retaliated – revenge is part of racing.

Third – Mr. NASCAR is wondering why the hell a guy with the suffix “ski” at the end of his name is allowed on the track in the first place! Next thing you know they’ll be letting women drivers in, too, just because they’re ‘pretty’ and bring publicity. NASCAR is known as a “good ole’ boys sport” – NOT a “good old boys AND girls sport.”

Part III:

Sunday is one of the “can’t miss races of the year” as we head to Bristol. This is the race where you are most likely to see a hockey game break out, as drivers are long on bumping and short on tempers on this tight track. Mr. NASCAR is wondering why NASCAR - who is so concerned with TV ratings - chose to take last week off and run this week, when they have to go up against the NCAA tournament. Makes no sense to me.

Anyway, the decision by NASCAR to not punish Edwards for the Brad-ski incident (he got a meaningless three race probation) shows that they are sticking by the season opening edict – “have at it boys!” Make no doubt about it, the drivers have taken NASCAR’s meaning – they can bump at their pleasure, with no threats of repercussion, so we should see a lot of hitting at Bristol. Bumpers cars at almost 120 MPH – this is gonna be fun!

Mr. NASCAR will be back tomorrow with his picks.

I CAN'T BELIEVE the books didn't put up a match-up featuring Edwards vs. Keselowski - talk about missing out on an opportunity! Top story in the sport, and books don't take advantage of it. Knuckleheads.

Today, small wagers as I've been snake bit by crashes and Bristol will have a lot of contact. I'm riding with the old man against Cheater boy Gordon, Martin $125 to win $100. Gordo has looked like shite this year, with only one top 10 finish.
Also, I'll try KK over Junior, just because he's a punk ass bitch and every once in a while I like to toss some mmoney against him and spend the afternoon rooting for him to crash, or do something stupid in the pits. Today is one of those days. Laying $125 to win $100.
