This event takes place from the Middle East and former two-time winner, Fernando Alonso, is favored to win for the third time.

Alonso has 3/2 odds to win according to the online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com. Other short odds to win are Lewis Hamilton (3/1), Sebastian Vettel (7/2), and Michael Schumacher (5/1).

Alonso won this event in 2005 and 2006, both years that he won the season championship. After finishing ninth in the season standings last year, Alonso made the jump to Ferrari, which has made him the favorite to win the season title in 2010.

Hamilton was the 2008 season champion and finished fifth last year. He won just two races in 2009 and finished fourth in this race last season.

Vettel was second in the point standings last year and he also finished second in this race in 2009. Vettel won four races in the 2009 season.

Schumacher is returning to Formula one after three years away. He won the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix in 2004. Schumacher is a seven-time series champion and this year he competes for Mercedes.

The Bahrain Grand Prix will take place Sunday, March 14 at 8AM ET. For complete odds and track information on this year’s event, see below.
