Formula 1 Odds: 2010 Chinese Grand Prix – Vettel Favored

The 2010 Formula 1 Season heads to Shanghai, China this week for the running of the 2010 Chinese Grand Prix from Shanghai International Circuit.

For this race, defending champion Sebastian Vettel is favored to win the event.

Vettel has 13/8 odds to win according to the online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com. Other short odds to win are Fernando Alonso (4/1), Lewis Hamilton (5/1), and Mark Webber (5/1).

Vettel won last year’s race, which was one of four wins in 2009 for him. Vettel has also finished fourth and ninth in previous Chinese G.P. races. He is coming off a win in the 2010 Malaysian Grand Prix and he is now tied for second in the F1 standings, just three points behind the leader, Felipe Massa.

Alonso won this event in 2005 and he also finished second in 2006 and 2007 and fourth in 2008. Alonso is currently tied with Vettel for second in the standings as he is coming off his worst finish of the season, taking 13 in the Malaysian Gran Prix.

Hamilton won this event in 2008 while taking sixth in 2009. Hamilton has finish sixth in two races this year and third in the other. He is currently sixth in the standings with 31 points.

Webber has never won this event be he finished second in 2009 and in the top 10 four other times. Webber is currently eighth in the standings with 24 points, but is coming off his best finish of the year when he took second in the Malaysian G.P.
