Formula 1 Odds – 2010 Hungarian Grand Prix – Fernando Alonso Favored
Formula 1’s 2010 Hungarian Grand Prix is this weekend and Fernando Alonso finds himself opening as the favorite to win.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction currently list Alonso as a +180 moneyline favorite. His odds are followed by Sebastian Vettel’s at +225, Mark Webber’s at +500 and Felipe Massa and Lewis Hamilton’s at +600.
It’s no wonder Alonso is favored after he won in Germany last week, although it was his first victory since March 14 in Bahrain. He’s now tied with Vettel and Hamilton for number of wins among F1 drivers this season at two.
Vettel won on June 27 in Europe and also on April 4 in Malaysia. Hamilton took back-to-back races in Turkey and Canada on May 30 and June 13 respectively, and is also a two-time winner of the Hungarian Grand Prix after winning here last year. (His other victory in Hungry came in 2007.)
One driver to keep an eye on this weekend is Michael Schumacher, who is 75/1 despite owning the most victories in Hungry with four. He won in 1994, 1998, 2001 and most recently in 2004. His four wins here best that of Ayrton Senna, who won this race three times over his career (1988, 1991, 1992).
The 2010 Hungarian Grand Prix will take place this Sunday, August 1 at 8:00AM ET. For complete odds on this weekend’s race, see below.
