IRL Odds - 2010 Firestone 550K – Three Favored By Oddsmakers
The 2010 IRL Season follows up the Indianapolis 500 with the 2010 Firestone 550K on Saturday.
Coming off his big win last weekend, Dario Franchitti is among one of three favorites to win this week’s race.
Franchitti joins Helio Castroneves and Scott Dixon as 16/5 favorites to win the online sports book Sports Interaction. Other short odds to win are Ryan Briscoe (9/2).
Franchitti is coming of his second Indy 500 win last Sunday, which was his first win of 2010. After winning the IRL season standings a year ago, Franchitti is currently second with 216 points. He has finished inside the top 5 at Texas the last two years and has four top 5’s in 2010.
Dixon is third in the current standings with 203 points. He has one win and four top 5’s on the year and he won this event two years ago while taking third in 2009.
Castroneves is fourth in the series with 199 points. He has one win and three top 5’s to his credit this year. Castroneves won this event a year ago and also has two other wins on this track.
Briscoe is currently seventh in the standings with 155 points. Briscoe has one top 3 and five top 10’s on the year. Briscoe was second at Texas a year ago and third in 2008.
