IRL Odds: 2010 Iowa Corn Indy 250 – Franchitti Favored By Oddsmakers
The 2010 IRL Racing Season continues on Sunday with the running of the Iowa Corn Indy 250 from Iowa Speedway.
This race is running for just the fourth time, and Dario Franchitti is favored to win the event for a third time.
Franchitti has 3/1 odds to win according to odds makers from the online sports book SBGGLOBAL. Other short odds to win are Helio Castroneves (4/1), Ryan Briscoe (4/1), and Scott Dixon (4/1)
Franchitti is still riding high after winning the Indianapolis 500. He now leads the season standings by three points over Will Power. Franchitti has won this event two times, in 2007 and 2009. Franchitti has finished in the top five in five of his last six races.
Castroneves is currently fourth in the standings, 35 points outside of first. He has not done well at Iowa Speedway, finishing no better than seventh in three races. Castroneves has failed to crack the top five in his last two events.
Briscoe is fifth in the standings, 38 points behind Franchitti. He is coming off a win last week in Texas and he finished second in the race at Iowa last year.
Dixon is just 11 points out of first in the standings as he is in third place. Dixon has finished in the top five of his last five races, including one win. At Iowa, Dixon has finished in the top five the last two years.
