Lenox Industrial Tools 301 Picks and Predictions
This week’s NASCAR race takes us to New Hampshire International Speedway for the Lenox Industrial Tools 301, which is referred to as the final push for the Chase for the Championship.
Every race from here on out is essentially important for those drivers near the bottom in the point chase.

When you think of a flat track, New Hampshire International Speedway fits the bill perfectly with only a maximum of seven degrees of banking, as little as two degrees in the turns, and just one degree in the straightaway. Many good drivers struggle on this type of track while others excel, which makes it a bit easier to narrow down the list of contenders.
Denny Hamlin 8/1
Denny Hamlin has always thrived on flat tracks and has had some great runs this year, only to be derailed by bad luck that has cost him at least two wins. In six starts here, Hamlin has one win and five top-10s, as well as an average finish of 7.2, which leads all drivers. With the way he has run lately (and with a little racing luck), we think Hamlin should run away from this field.
Tony Stewart 9/1
You would be hard pressed to find any driver hotter than Tony Stewart right now and New Hampshire International Speedway might just be one of his best tracks. In 20 starts here, Stewart has two wins and has finished in the top five an amazing 10 times and has a average finish of 12.6, which ranks him near the top. If Hamlin's bad luck continues, look for Stewart to be in position to pick up his second win of the year.

Martin Truex Jr. 22/1
Martin Truex Jr. is one of the few drivers who seems to have a fondness for the COT car, especially here where he has figured this track out ever since they went to the COT car full time. In four starts here in the COT car, Truex has three top-5’s and has never finished worse than seventh for an average finish of 4.8 in this car.
Richard Childress Racing
For years Richard Childress Racing was known for putting the best cars on the track whenever the team would run on a flat track like New Hampshire. The way this team has looked all year, it’s hard to endorse any of its drivers right now. But at these prices (as well as the history the team has here), it wouldn’t be a shock to see Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick or Clint Bowyer in victory lane.
