Odds to Win The 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Pocono 500

The odds are out for the 2008 Pocono 500 and for the first time in a long a driver other than Kyle Busch finds himself as the odds to win favorite.
Looking to put “Tire-Gate” behind them, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads into Pennsylvania for the 2008 Pocono 500.
Betting opened on this weeks Pocono 500 with Evernham-Gillette driver Kasey Kahne being listed as the odds to win favorite for this weekends race in the Pennsylvania foothills.
Oddsmakers from online sports books Bodog and SBG Global have listed Kahne as a 5/1 favorite to win the Sprint Cup seasons second race at Pocono. Kahne won the June race here after capturing the pole. He has one other pole start at Pocono in the June, 2004 race.
Rounding out the top 5 odds to win favorites for this Sunday’s race are last weeks winner Jimmie Johnson at 5.5/1, Sprint Cup Series points leader Kyle Busch and two-time Pocono winner Denny Hamlin at 6/1 and June 2005 Pocono winner Carl Edwards at 7/1.
The 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Pocono 500 will be held on Sunday August 3, 2008 at Pocono Raceway in Pocono, Pennsylvania. Pre-race coverage begins at 1:00pm eastern on ESPN and ESPN HD.
The green flag will drop at approximately 2:15pm eastern, TV coverage will be provided by ESPN and ESPN HD. Radio coverage for the 2008 Pocono 500 will be provided by the Motor Racing Network (MRN).
