Bodine captures first truck pole of the season
Sat 9th, August 2008

Lebanon, TN (Sports Network) - Todd Bodine won the pole for Saturday's Toyota Tundra 200 at the Nashville Superspeedway. The No.30 Germain Racing Toyota driver rounded the 1.333-mile concrete oval in 30.244 seconds (158.669 m.p.h.).

The pole victory was Bodine's first of the season and the fourth of his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series career.

Starting on the front row with Bodine will be Stacy Compton, who posted a time of 30.270 seconds.

Mike Skinner (30.326) and rookie Colin Braun (30.327) will make up row two.

Other notable drivers and their starting positions include: Rick Crawford (sixth), Ron Hornaday, Jr. (12th), Johnny Benson (16th) and Matt Crafton (23rd).

Benson will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at the Nashville Superspeedway. If Benson drives into Victory Lane for the Toyota Tundra 200 at Nashville, he will become the sixth driver in Craftsman Truck Series history to win three races in a row.

Benson is coming off of wins at Kentucky and O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis. He comes to Nashville with a 15-point lead over defending series champion Hornaday and a 31-point advantage over Crafton. Crawford (-155) and Skinner (-157) are fourth and fifth in the standings.

The green flag for tonight's race is scheduled to drop around 7:30 p.m. (et).
