2011 NASCAR Odds – Daytona 500 – Harvick Favored By Oddsmakers
By Drew Sharper
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – The field for the 2011 Daytona 500 has been set as Kurt Busch and Jeff Burton picked up victories in the Gatorade Duels on Thursday.
Busch will lineup behind Dale Earnhardt Jr. once the cars take the track, but will ultimately have the pole position as Earnhardt Jr. has to move to the back of the back because he is using his backup car.
Burton will now start in the No. 4 spot, second on the right side of the track behind Jeff Gordon after winning his respective duel race.
Despite all the movement, it is Kevin Harvick that is favored to win the race according to oddsmakers at online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com. Harvick has 7/1 odds to win while other short odds are Kyle Busch (8/1), Tony Stewart (9/1), and Earnhardt Jr. (9/1).
Harvick won his only Daytona 500 in 2007 and in his career, he has two wins at Daytona International Speedway. Harvick will start seventh on Sunday.
Kurt Busch now has 10/1 odds to win and he has now won the first two non-series races to open 2011 as he won Thursday’s Gatorade Duel No. 1 and last weekend’s Budweiser Shootout.
Burton has 12/1 odds to win the event after his victory while Gordon has 10/1 odds.
The Daytona 500 will take place Sunday, Feb. 20 from Daytona International Speedway at 1PM ET. For complete odds and track information on this year’s event, see below.
