2010 MLB Home Run Derby Odds To Win – Two Favored By Oddsmakers
The annual showcase of power hitters known at the Home Run Derby takes place Monday night and the odds are out for which player will win the contest.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sports Interaction, David Ortiz and Miguel Cabrera are favored to win with betting lines of +250 while Nick Swisher, Corey Hart, and Matt Holliday each come in at +500.
Ortiz has competed in three previous Home Run Derbies. His best finish was third in 2005, where he hit a total of 20 home runs. Ortiz also finishing fourth in 2006 with 13 and last in 2004 with three. This season, Big Papi has hit 17 long balls while driving in 56 runs for the Red Sox.
Cabrera competed in the Home Run Derby in 2006, where he finishing third with 15 long balls. This season, Cabrera has 22 home runs and 76 RBI for the Tigers.
Swisher has never competed in the Home Run Derby. This season, the Yankee has 15 home runs with 49 RBI.
Hart is also competing in his first Home Run Derby. He has 20 home runs this year for the Brewers.
Holliday took part in the 2007 Home Run Derby, where he finished third with 13 long balls. This season, Holliday has 15 home runs for the Cardinals.
